pectrophotometer is used for the measurement of the (specular and/or diffused) reflection, transmission and absorption properties of a material as a function of wavelength. The Integrating Sphere and Direct Direction Unit are used for the optical measurements. Liquid samples besides the small (1cm x 2cm) and large solid samples can be measured using special attachments. In addition, color analysis and film thickness measurements are carried out.

Analysis of Solid Samples
There are different measurement methods and accessories required for analyzing solid samples using a UV/VIS spectrophotometer. They can be classified as either transmission measurement, in which light that passes through the sample is measured, or reflection measurement, in which light reflected off the sample is measured. Furthermore, transmission measurement and reflection measurement can both be subdivided into various types (direct, relative, specular and diffuse).
