Automatic Petroleum Refractometer

Principle:
Refractometer is an instrument used to analyze a sample based on Refractive Index, which is a fundamental physical property. This property is used in conjunction with other properties to characterize pure liquids including hydrocarbons and their mixtures.

 Applications:

  • Concentration measurements,
  • Purity determinations
  • Chemical identification.

Specification:

  • Conforms to ASTM D1218, D1747, D5006, and D5775 test specifications.
  • Temperature range 10 to 100°C.
  • Refractive Index range: 1.29000 to 1.70000 nD
  • Rugged sapphire prism
  • Clear to highly colored, and opaque to dark samples.
  • Temperature Corrected Ref. Index 10°C to 100°C.
  • Ten User-Programmable Scales
  • Illumination: 589nm light emitting diode with interference filter.
  • Dissolved solids range = 0 to 95% solids.
  • Readability = 0.01% Solids 0.00001 nD
  • Precision: Refractive Index Standard Oils ± 0.00003
